A few things I'm thinking about...

Exercising the right to vote on January 23, 2006

I’m not the most politically active person, but I know the importance of voting. Remember, you can’t complain, if you don’t vote. If you need some info on the candidates, take a look at this link.

Reverend Eugene Rivers

I’m glad that we are making an effort to help put a stop to gun violence. Reverend Eugene Rivers, the pastor responsible for decreasing the amount of homicides in Dorchester, Boston, visited Toronto last week and gave us (more specifically, the black community) insight on not only how to solve the problem, but to understand all aspects of the problem. 2005 was one of the most violent years that I could remember, so it’s time that we all come together and help our youth.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day: It falls on the 3rd Monday in January.
Even though Martin Luther King Jr. Day was celebrated last week (Jan 16th), I would like to see this holiday observed worldwide.

Have a good week!

peace and love,

michelle

I dunno about the Reverend Rivers. Not everybody is religious. Everything he's talkin' 'bout has to do with the church. Not hatin' or nothin' but can we leave Jesus out of this one?
